Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles is
Mekka for oddities of all kinds, especially for shops.
You can buy almost everything here: lether clothes,
extravagant dresses, shoes on platform, and, of course,
specials starting from bangles with locks, down to
fashionable Mercedes star..
And there is no wonder that looking like birds from
Paradise the members of the pop-trio Army of lovers
immediately fell in love with Melrose Avenue, when
they came to the promotion tour to Los Angeles and
drove Americans crazy."And so everywhere". - Says
shining Jean-Pierre Barda about the interest arisen
by the extravagant musicians.
"Everybody is glad to see us, because we are not so
boning as the overwhelming majority of the other
bands", - says Michaela De La Cour smiling. And indeed:
though Armyspent only some days in Los Angeles and New
York, visiting photostudioes, giving interviews and
appearing on TV, they instantly conquered the both
cities.The musicians invited a shooting Popcorn
group to a little party at a swimming pool in Hollywood.
"Take swimming- shorts,"-said Alexander to a Popcorn
correspondent over the telephone, laughing. When the
cameramen lifted up to the swimming pool to a roof of
a hotel, which stands on the legendary Sunset Boulevard
in Hollywood, Michaela and Jean-Pierre had been already
splashing in the water.
"We need some cool, -grumbled indignant Alexander-We've just
heard that our new video "Judgment Day" will be shown with the
cuts in America! Such Puritanism can raise only a laugh in
Sweden! The scene when "pregnant" Alexander "is giving birth"
to a dog (the bulldog named Anders is a favorite of all the
band-members) become a cornerstone.
Michaela considers that all this fuss
was kicked up becausesome people have
not any sense of humor at all!
A party at a swimming pool is prelude
to a real AOL's vacation.
"We will be hawing a rest till the end
of July and then start
to record in August again, - At first
only promotional work in the form of
interviews and photographs was planned
besides some appearing on TV and now,
thanks to Popcorn, the trio have got
unexpected opportunities."It's great
that you are shooting us in the
open-air and not in the studioes, 
where I can't breath!" - says Jean-Pierre, patting a roof of luxurious
white limousine, standing near the Hard roc Cafe.
"We have a trio around the city for free and by the way we can buy
something". Indeed, Jean-Pierre and Michaela, who had finally met with
her father, lived in Los Angeles, thoroughly "explored" all the shops
on Melrose Avenue.
The jewelry Jean-Pierre has acquired can't measure in pieces."It might
be two kiloes!" - he laughts. It was impossible to drag Michaela out of the
antiquarian shops, and finally she bought three pairs of old watches. But
the stroll stopped suddenly hears one little restaurant. A host of a bistro,
temperament Italian Georgio caught the guests in front of the door and invited
them to dinner. "They are certainly the stars, aren't they?" -he hissed
to the Popcorn correspondent. He was right, because on the same night Army
appeared on TV screens of the famous cinema-city, and then Hollywood was
crazy about them during 48 hours.
